Warren Charles Perkins

Graveside services for Warren "Charles" Perkins, 77, will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Brother Bob Moore. Charles was born March 9, 1944 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to Charlie Asa Perkins and Flora Mae Dewease Perkins and passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 in Shreveport. Charles was a resident of Shreveport and worked for 36 years as a Departmental Manager at a car dealership and 20 years as a small business owner. He loved to grow vegetables, especially tomatoes. Despite hating to dance, he and his wife started square dancing. He soon grew to love the fellowship and lifelong friends he made at Southern Swingers. Charles also served as a Medic during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Sera Wedgeworth. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda Henson Perkins; son, Joseph Perkins and wife, Kari; daughter, Terresa Perkins Wedgeworth; granddaughter, Emily Curtis and husband, Hunter; grandsons, Declan Wedgeworth, Keaton Wedgeworth and Colton Walker; sisters, Mae Cauthen and husband, Charles, Dorothy Ables and husband, Carlos, Pat Womble and Linda Wilmoth. Honoring Charles as pallbearers will be David Perkins, Ken Perkins, Bill Perkins, Declan Wedgeworth, Keaton Wedgeworth and Ethan Seaney. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Colton Walker and Hunter Curtis. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Overton Brooks VA Hospital, Ochsner LSU Medical Center and The Carpenter House for the wonderful care they provided. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
