Graveside services for Wayland E. Pullig, 98, of Shreveport, LA, will be 2:30 pm Friday, September 4, 2020, at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, Shreveport, LA.
Waylon was born in Bienville Parish to Wyatt and Lillian Belle Pullig. After serving in the Navy during World War II he returned to Louisiana and started working for the City of Shreveport as a Trolley Drive and continued with the job until the city changed to the Bus System.
He was a member of the Kingston Road Baptist Church and was a faithful member in the church until moving to Garden Park Nursing Home on Linwood. Wayland was alert and lucid in his old age, he had an incredible memory. He had weekly phone calls with loved ones. He was the "glue" for the Pullig family.
Wayland was preceded in death by his bride Helen Collins, his son-in-law Jim Peterson and his brothers, Clayton, Gordon & Jack "Richard". Left to cherish Wayland's memory, his daughter, Phyllis Pullig Peterson and numerous extended family and friends.
The Pullig family would like to thank Mrs. Bobbie Cooper for her devotion to the family and Wayland; Garden Park Nursing for their care and support; Willis-Knighton Pierremont for their care and to St. Joseph/Carpenter House for their Hospice Care during Wayland's final hours.
