Wilda M. Hughes

DOYLINE, LA - Funeral services for Wilda Marie Hughes, 84, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Officiating will be Dr. Jeff Raines. Interment will follow at Forest Park St. Vincent. Wilda was born on April 9, 1931 and passed away on September 29, 2014. She retired from South Central Bell. She enjoyed writing poetry, teaching Sunday school and being with her church family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Sykes; husband, David Lee Hughes. She is survived by sons, David S. Hughes and Mark S. Hughes; daughter, Rhonda M. Hughes; granddaughters, Heather Phares, Hilary Guillory, Ariel Roberson and Jenny Hicks; great-grandchildren, Grayson Hutchins, Lyric Phares, Ivana Guillory and India Gray. Wilda loved God and her family. She was truly an angel on earth and will be missed dearly.
