Willard G. Dowden

Coushatta, LA Celebration of life and going home graveside service for Willard "Bill" Dowden, 85, was held Monday, February 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Thomas-Wren Cemetery in the Martin community with Reverend Norene Delp officiating under the direction of Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Mr. Dowden was born March 30, 1930, in Milam, TX and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 28, 2016, in Shreveport, LA. During his lifetime, he served in the NAVY, as a state trooper, and then chief of police for LeCompte, LA. Preceding him in death were parents, Chris and Bertie Dowden and an infant sister. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Hazel Dowden; adopted son, J. T. Taylor; adopted daughters, Sherrie Caskey and husband, Greg and Niki Taylor and husband, Tim; brothers, Glen Dowden and E. B. Dowden and wife, Judy; three grandsons and a special grandson, Evan Taylor "PaPa's Littleman", one granddaughter; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
