William F. Barnett

William F. Barnett, born August 31, 1939, in Magnolia, Arkansas passed away October 19, 2024, in Minden, Louisiana after a brief illness. William served in the United States Army and was a deacon of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church of Minden, Louisiana. He was a long-term member of the Minden Chapter of the Civitans and also served as Captain and EMT of the fire department at the Louisiana Army Ammunition plant for 27 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Willie F. Barnett; mom, Edna Juanita Barnett; brother, Samuel Barnett; sister, Billie Ann Mays; son, William Shawn Barnett; granddaughter, Aliyah Barnett; and former wife, Delois Ann Barnett.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Barnett; sons, DeWayne and wife, Charlotte, Benjamin, Wesley and wife Jamie, and Clint; brother, John Barnett and wife Gail; grandchildren, Kelsey, Shelby and husband Keith Shannon, William Shawn Barnett, Jr., Carter and wife Mallory, and Lexi.

Pallbearers will be Butch Lewis, Billy Ray, Keith Shannon, Carter Barnett, William Shawn Barnett, Jr. and Charles Buckner.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Chet Johnson and Bro. Michael Wilkes officiating. Interment will follow at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service time.
