William Ford Biggs

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for William F. "Billy" Biggs will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Noon at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Visitation with the family will be Monday, April 3, 2017 at 5pm. Interment will be at Gibsland Cemetery, Gibsland, Louisiana. William F. "Billy" Biggs passed away peacefully March 30, 2017. William was born on February 8, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama to John and Gertrude Biggs. William was married to Bettye Jo Biggs in 1951 and was joyfully married for 65 years. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 25 years. A Veteran, William served his country proudly in both the Marines and the United States Navy. William came to know the Lord and was baptized at Kelley Memorial Baptist Church where he was also involved in recreational ministries. He taught Sunday school at Sunset Acres Baptist, where he attended for over 20 years. During his life, William was very active as an umpire at the Baptist Ball Park and loved traveling and camping with Bettye Jo. William is preceded in death by his son Steven F. Biggs. He is survived by his wife Bettye Jo Biggs; daughter Vicky L. McKinney; son the Rev. Keith Biggs. William leaves to cherish his memory nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. William will be greatly missed by many because of the impact he had on those who knew and loved him.
