Born January 9. 1966 in Chambersburg, PA to Lafayette Thomas Wright and Allie-Mae Moran Wright, William quickly found his calling in life in Emergency Medical Services first earning certification as an Emergency Medical Technician at age 18 and starting his EMS career in the Houston, Texas area. After moving to Shreveport, William continued his education to become a Nationally Registered Paramedic in 1991, William served the citizens of Northwest Louisiana as a paramedic and paramedic supervisor for Balentine Ambulance Service as well as Natchitoches Parish EMS and Red River Parish EMS, transporting the sick and injured in their most vulnerable time of need. William had a love for teaching new EMTs and Paramedics not only the skills needed to excel in EMS but also the personal touch of genuinely caring for patients. William was the master of the practical joke, no one was safe at the station to one of his pranks. As a disaster ambulance Strike team leader William deployed to disasters such as hurricane Katrina, Rita and many other largescale events. William was always working while others were enjoying themselves, leading EMS responses to every major Mardi Gras Parade in Shreveport for the past 20 years.
William was an avid outdoorsman with a true passion for hunting, fishing, camping, riding 4-wheelers and a love of cooking anything that could walk, crawl or swim. He enjoyed riding 4-wheelers with his kids and extended family alike.
