Tom passed away peacefully on August 17, 2017 at Grace Home in Shreveport. He graduated from El Dorado High School and the University of Arkansas and spent his career as a geologist primarily in Houston and Shreveport. He was a member of the Co-Wed Sunday School Class at FUMC and an active member of FUMC for over 30 years. He enjoyed his family more than anything else-especially being \'Pop-Pop\' to all of his grandchildren. His faith in God was evident in every aspect of his life and to every person who ever met him. In his own words, \"My life is simply to do the right thing as I know and to be known as a totally honest person.\" He is survived by his wife Marian; his children - Cynthia Head Laeng (Bob), Kenneth Head, Lisa Head Turner (Tommy), James Head (Renee), and Amanda Head Bowman; his step-sons - Gregg Parsley (Nancy) and Clay Parsley; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; his sister, Geraldine Head Puckett (Dennis); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and friends. A Memorial Service honoring his life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at First United Methodist Church Shreveport at 1pm followed by a reception in Couch Parlor.
