Celebration of life and going home service for William David Hoof, 69, was held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Red River Cowboy Church in Lake End, LA at 1:00 PM with Reverend Clyde Miley and Reverend Norene Delp officiating. Interment followed at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA. Visitation was held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 beginning from 10:00 AM prior to service time at the church.
Mr. Hoof was born June 25, 1948 in Leakesville, MS to William Sanders and Merlene Cooley Hoof and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 15, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. He was a 30 year veteran from the U. S. Air Force, an OSI agent, served 16 years as an FBI agent, served two years on Air Force One with President Gerald Ford, received award for Southern Gospel Writer of the Year in 2000 for NQC, wrote over 100 Southern Gospel songs, and was a Founding Member of the Celebrate Recovery Group at the Red River Cowboy Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sons, Chad Dewayne Hoof and Brad Sanders Hoof.
Left to cherish his memory are wife, Virgie Kreidel Hoof; three daughters, Regina Michele Hoof McGinty and husband, Thomas, Jennifer Ratcliff Bruner and husband, Richard, Rosslyn Ratcliff Mosteiro and husband, Rick; three sisters, Carolyne Yakabosky and husband, Albin, Patsy Hart and husband, Harold, and Darla Hart and husband, Don; seven grandchildren, Timothy Hackett, Ella, Emma and Carli McGinty, Bonnie, Jessica and Michael Bruner; one great-grandchild, Piper Bruner and other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Mickey Lacaze, Jeff Howe, Thomas Mathews, Chase Corley, Barry Horton, Jason Wilk, Joshua Wilk, and Thomas Barbo.
