Funeral services honoring the life of William Macaulay Johnson, 85, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Tom Brown. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Rose-Neath Cemetery.
William "Wild Bill" Macaulay Johnson was born March 1, 1936 in Houma, Louisiana to Leroy and Frances Johnson and passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 1, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
William graduated with a bachelor's degree from Northwestern State University and served in the United States Army in Korea. He married the love of his life, Azalea, in 1968 and had had two wonderful children. He had a career in sales, was an expert chess player and enjoyed playing tennis and jogging but was mostly known for his poetry. William will always be remembered for his love of life and his positive attitude.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 13 years, Azalea Johnson; parents; son, Brandon Johnson; and brothers, Roy Grant Johnson and Ernest Lee Johnson.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Derek Johnson.
