HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. William F. "Bill" Kyle, 84, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA, on Friday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John McClelland, officiating. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home before the service from 10-11 a.m.
Mr. Kyle was born September 23, 1930, in Downsville, LA, to Pryor and Inez Kyle. He entered into rest on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, in Homer, LA, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Kyle served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He moved to Homer, LA, in 1957 where he was employed by Claiborne Electric Cooperative from 1957 to 1994.
Mr. Kyle was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Gladys Farris Kyle; two daughters, Karen Finley and husband Terry of Calhoun, LA, and Wanda Hudson and husband Jeff of Haughton, LA; two sons, Terry Kyle and wife Kelle of Mt. Home, AR, and Glen Kyle and wife Rachel of Arcadia, LA; eight grandchildren, Caleb Kyle, Brandon Kyle, Lindsey Owens, Michele Souter, Clay Hudson, Trent Ellis, Riley Spradlin and Chandos Hudson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Caleb Kyle, Trent Ellis, Clay Hudson, Jeff Hudson, Brandon Kyle and Casey Cheney.
Honorary pallbearers were past and present Claiborne Electric Co-op employees.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Scott Haynes, the staff of Claiborne Memorial Medical Center, Lifecare Specialty Hospital of Ruston and Presbyterian Village.
