William D. "Dave" Morgan, 89, was born September 7, 1928 in Shongaloo, LA and passed away on April 6, 2018 in Shreveport. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for the Caddo Parish Sheriff Department for six and a half years, the Shreveport Police Department as a self-defense instructor, and the owner of Morgan's Construction for 43 years. He was an avid horse trader.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Lester Morgan; sisters, Ola Morgan Burt, Dorothy Morgan Sewell, Valeria Morgan Hosey; and brothers, June Morgan, Lester "L.G." Morgan, Jr., Jimmy Morgan, Jarrell Morgan, and Welton "Bud" Morgan. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cheryle Morgan; sons, Ronald David Morgan, Tommy Glen Morgan, and William Greg Morgan; daughters, Brenda Jean Morgan and Kathy M. McCann; stepchildren, Jennifer Lynn Ross and David Matthew Harris; brother, Billy Morgan; 15 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society. A private wake will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018.
