William George Nicholson Sr.
William G. Nicholson, 76, of Greenwood, LA passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017.
Mr. Nicholson was born April 19, 1941 in Cornwall, NY. He is the son of the late Evelyn M. (Smith) Nicholson and the late James R. Nicholson Sr. He married Carolyn S. Savell on November 16, 1960.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from July 7, 1959 to August 1, 1979 and retired with honors at Plattsburgh, AFB NY. He is also a retired Police Officer from the Department of Veterans Affairs at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents James R. Nicholson Sr. and Evelyn M. Nicholson, his sister Marion J. Wells and his brother James R. Nicholson Jr. He is survived by his wife Carolyn S. Nicholson of 57 years, two daughters Carolyn S. Nicholson of AZ., Cindy S. Nicholson of LA, and two sons William G. Nicholson Jr. of LA. And Nick C. Nicholson of NY,. Two grandchildren and three great grandchildren of TX.
Viewing will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017. Burial service will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017.
