William Charles Ovitt

Funeral services for William Charles Ovitt will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home Minden Chapel with Bro. Tommy Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Tulip Cemetery in Athens, Louisiana. 

William was born September 30, 1941, in Minnesota and went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. William served his country in the United State Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Gladys Ovitt, brothers, Bert T. Ovitt, Jr and Timothy Lee Ovitt, and sisters, Karen Ovitt Pottenger, Lana Ovitt Benson, and Wanda Ovitt Wells and grandson, Devon Brook Dowlen.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Basham Ovitt, sons, Chuck Ovitt, Chet Ovitt, Chris Ovitt, Lane Shepherd (Kandy), daughter, Wendy Ranger (Richard), sister, Sharon Ovitt Stark, brothers, Dean Ovitt, John Ovitt, and Duke Ovitt, grandchildren, Morgan Ovitt, Samantha Ovitt, Brook Ovitt, Chaz Ovitt, Gus Ovitt, Cody Ovitt, Max Ovitt, Gabe Ovitt, Adam Graves, Tyler Mabry, Brantly Ranger, Brittian Ranger, Bryson Ranger, Jordan Shepherd, Wyatt Shepherd and numerous great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chaz Ovitt, Gus Ovitt, Cody Ovitt, Max Ovitt, Gabe Ovitt, Adam Graves, and Tyler Mabry.
