Mansfield, LA - William T. Palmer, Jr., 93, was the lone survivor of this DeSoto Pioneer family. W.T. was born April 21, 1921 in Mansfield to William Turner and Nettie Duke Palmer and passed away April 13, 2015 in Shreveport.
Funeral services honoring W.T.'s life will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 17, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield with Brother Junior Wash officiating. Burial will be at Beulah Cemetery in the Lula Community on Highway 481 South. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM.
He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and a World War II Veteran. W.T. was an avid hunter and fisherman, always willing to share his "catch." His legacy lives on in those left to cherish his many precious memories, children Mike Palmer and wife Tracy, Alan Wayne Palmer and wife Debra, Dana Smarr and husband J.B., Larry Dixon; grandchildren Kayla Palmer, Andrew Palmer, Lani Palmer, Waylon Palmer, Ashley Bossier, Jake Samford, John Samford, and Hannah Smarr; great grandchild Drake Palmer, Luke Price and Landry Price; numerous nieces, nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
W.T. was preceded in death by his son Bobby Dixon; parents and five siblings.
Those honoring the life of W.T. as pallbearers will be William H. Palmer, Vernon Sebastian, Bob Palmer, Marcus Hanks, Roger Whitlock, and Doug Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Cordova, Dustin Boyt, and Greg Dyess.
