William "Bill" Athern Bryant

Shreveport, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of William "Bill" Bryant, 84, who passed away May 19, 2015, surrounded by loved ones and friends; will be Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside. Officiating will be Dr. Murray Hodge. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Northwest LA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until service begins. Bill was born February 28, 1931 in Perry County, AR. He was an active member of Summer Grove Baptist Church, and a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William Neal Bryant and Mary Nora Bryant; and sisters, Pauline Gross and Bernice Hodge. He is survived by his wife, Lois W. Bryant; sons, William M. Bryant and wife, Diana and Mark F. Preddy and wife, Beena; daughters, Cheryll E. Moore and husband, Curtis and Melanie K. Smith and husband, DD; brother, Thurman L. Bryant; sister, Naomi Morris and husband, Edgar; grandchildren, Ashley P. LaFitte and husband, Shane, Misti M. Nixon, Stephanie N. Wasson and husband, Brian, Mark F. Preddy, Jr., Curtis R. Moore, III, Lauren M. Smith, John D. Smith, Michelle Wilburn and ten great-grandchildren. Honoring Bill as pallbearers will be Mark F. Preddy, Jr., Curtis R. Moore, III, John D. Smith, Brian Wasson, Shane LaFitte, and Mike Cline.
