William I. (Bill) Person passed from this life into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 13, 2015. Bill was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas on August 4, 1943 to Era Madden Person and Marcus I. Person. Bill was a graduate of C. E. Byrd High School and attended Ouachita Baptist University and LSU-S. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for four years. Bill spent most of his career in the area of sales with several national companies. He served as a Territory Manager, District Manager and National Account Manager. Bill's favorite hobby was traveling with his family. Trips to Wisconsin to visit extended family held some of the most special memories for him. Bill was an active member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School in the Middle School and Children's Divisions.
Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA on Friday, August 14, 2015, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Services to honor Bill's life will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Frank Gunn will officiate. Burial will follow at the Plain Dealing Cemetery in Plain Dealing, LA.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Era Person, a nephew Jason Person, and his wife's parents, Davis and Maurice McCall.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Kay McCall Person, their son John David Person and his wife, Alex, his brother Jim Person and wife, Carolyn, his nephew Eric Person his wife, Jessica and their children Dalton and Madalyn. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Melissa Whittington and her husband, Julian, nephew Blake Whittington and his wife, Katy, niece Anna Kathryn Whittington Bufkin and her husband, David.
Honoring Bill as pallbearers will be Eric Person, Taylor McHan, Mason McHan, Chris Baker, Ben Potter, Mark Milam, Adam Walker and Kent Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be A.W. Steed, Scott Sevier, Tommy Scott, and Dr. David Bryan.
The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Hargon, Dr. Anthony Stuart, and Dr. Randy Bryn, along with the WKN ICU doctors and nurses, the nurses and staff of the WK Cancer Treatment Center and the nurses and staff of LifeCare North.
