William "Billy" Lee Buckner

SHREVEPORT, LA - Billy Buckner, 72, passed away after suffering with a lengthy illness on May 10, 2016. He was born December 24, 1943 in Greenwood, LA to B.J. and Catherine Buckner. He grew up in the Shreveport area his whole life. After finishing high school he met and married Sandra Jane Fisher. Together they started their life and had two daughters, Becky and Tracy. Billy was a retired engineer for South Central Bell. He was an avid bass fisherman and golfer. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Catherine Neuvander Buckner and B.J. Buckner, and his brother, Tommie Buckner. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Sandra Jane Fisher Buckner; daughters, Becky Bordovsky and Tracy Buckner; grandchildren, Matison Bixby, Alex Wigington and Tyler Bordovsky; Liam and Asher Bixby; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Regional Hospice and The Bradford for all the care, support and compassion they gave to Billy.
