Funeral services were held for William P. \"Dub\" Bailey, 83, at the Holly Ridge Assembly of God, 857 Holly Ridge Road in Colquitt, LA on Thursday, February 27, w014, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Chuck Garner, officiating. Interment followed at the Coluqitt Cemetery. The family received friends at the Holly Ridge Assembly of God Church on Wednesday from 5-7 pm.
Dub was born Nov. 22, 1930 in Summerfield to W.P. Bailey and Odie Mae Stevenson Bailey. He entered into rest Tuesday, Feb. 25th at Homer Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Dub retired from International Paper as a machine operator with nearly 30 years of service. He later worked in maintenance at Claiborne Manor Nursing Home, Homer Memorial Hospital and Heritage Nursing Center in Haynesville. Dub was an avid hunter, gardener and loved his hunting dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; also one sister, Juanita Foster and two brothers, Howard Bailey and H.E. "Chuck" Bailey.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sue Lindsey Bailey of Haynesville; one daughter, Mary Denise Coffman of Springhill; two sons, Robert W. Bailey and wife, Kelli of Haynesville and Greg K. Bailey of Haynesville; two sisters, Patsy Clements and husband, Charlie and Louise Taylor, all of Memphis, TN; 9 grandchildren, Nicki Lewis and husband, Heath, Dusty Bailey, Blake Bailey, Kelly Bailey, Lindsay Bell and husband, Jay, Natasha Bailey, Rayne Lewis, Jaycee Davis and Laura Ware; four great-grandchildren, Brianna, Slaid, Laney and Gracelynn; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jerry Lindsay, Don Lindsey, Rayne Lewis, Jaycee Davis, Lee Moss, Slaid Gorman and Heath Lewis.
