William Sepulvado

William "Doc" Sepulvado Jr., 73, passed away in Many, LA on August 7, 2021, after a short, but courageous battle with lung cancer. He was brave throughout the 10 months of fighting this horrible disease; all the way to the end. This cancer suddenly came into our lives, without any warning and I say our lives because I lived through the pain and heartache alongside with him, as well as mentally, emotionally and often physically. The cancer did not care who it was taking away; a husband, a father, a grandfather and a brother. It started to break down what held him grounded and he was left with pieces of him slowly, and sometimes rapidly and painfully, slip away with all hopes and dreams with it. In the end, cancer thought it won, but the most inspiring thing happens; cancer loses its strength and grace appears. As much as it hurts those he left behind, we need to see it, we need to accept it, and go with it. No matter what, grace and love always wins, not cancer! William was born on January 19, 1948 in Converse, Louisiana to William "Buddy" Sepulvado Sr. and Rachel Rivers Sepulvado. William was always known throughout his family and friends, as well as his co-workers, as "Doc". Visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Many, LA. Public viewing will be held from 5 pm-9pm, with a vigil/rosary beginning at 6pm. His funeral mass will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Many, LA. Officiating the mass service will be Father Francis Kamau and burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle, LA. William graduated from Zwolle High School in 1965 and then enlisted in the National Guard in 1967 - 1973. He studied at the Vo-Tech where he earned a degree in Electronics, and he completed one semester at NSU where he was also studying Electronics; although he was unable to complete his degree because of shift changes at work; he did gain a lot of knowledge that helped him in his career. After completing his active-duty service, he began working at Boise Cascade Mill in Florien, LA. starting at the bottom of the ladder. Over the 47 years of his career at the mill he worked himself up the ladder to various jobs in the plant, to eventually becoming a Supervisor and designing their schematics for many projects constructed and troubleshooting the many, many obstacles that might would occur. He loved a challenge with figuring out the problem and fixing it. He will always be remembered for his determination and independence, as well as always seeking more ways to excel with his job at all times, gaining more knowledge and learning from any obstacles presented to him. He was well known throughout the plant for troubleshooting any problem presented to him. He excelled with anything pertaining to computers and learning everything about them, as well as their performance. William is survived by his wife, Brenda Ramsey, married for 42 years. He also leaves behind two sons, Chase Sepulvado and wife Casey, of Benton, LA and Spencer Sepulvado and wife, LeeAnn of Haughton, LA. Chase graduated from NSU, he then became a successful professional firefighter, and after joining the Shreveport Fire Department he earned a degree in Paramedic training. Spencer graduated from NSU with a degree in computers, he served his country by enlisting in the Marines where he earned more training in computers; after his honorable discharge he successfully gained employment in the computer programing, coding and testing industry. William was very proud of the men they both became and the accomplishments they have both made thus far in their lives. He also leaves behind a beautiful granddaughter, Adilee, age 7, to which she had her grandpa wrapped around her little finger. When she would come for weekend visits, he spoiled her with always having a surprise on her bed and that would be first thing she'd always ask; "Where is my surprise Grandpa?" Recently, we were graced with a grandson, Shepard, to which William affectionately called "Mohawk". When Shepard was born, he had a strip of hair only down the center of his head. William loved to brag about his kids and grandkids. He is also survived by his mother, Rachel Rivers Sepulvado of Many, LA., sisters, Linda Kay Sepulvado of Los Angeles, CA and Brigitte Todd and husband, Mark of Haughton, LA., and one brother, Randy Sepulvado and wife, Cheryl of Zwolle, LA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
