Williams Russel Saddler, Jr.

William R. Saddler Jr., 54, of Keithville, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 surrounded by family. William was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel Saddler Martin and son, Reed Saddler. He is survived by his father, William R. Saddler Sr. and Jeannie Roberson; partner of 31 years, Carla Saddler; son, William R. Saddler III; daughter-in-law, Kristin Saddler; daughter, Amanda Jordan; son-in-law, Daniel Jordan; grandson, Remington Jordan; sister, Cheryl Horne; brother-in-law, Carl Horne; niece, Kelly Russell and husband Jake Russell. In addition, he is survived by many aunts, uncles, and extended family. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath South from 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Friday, December 1. In addition, a celebration of life service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 2 at Saddler Ranch located at 12019 Saddler Ranch Road, Keithville, Louisiana. Flowers may be sent to Rose-Neath South, or in lieu of flowers memorial donations sent to Barksdale Wounded Warrior Association at 1695 Bellevue Road, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. William was born on March 6, 1963 in Baltimore, Maryland to William and Rachel Saddler. He and his family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1966. He was known by those around him as being adventurous, over-achieving, caring, and tenacious. In July 1982, he married his best friend Carla Cogswell, and they went on to raise both a son and a daughter. As an adult, William served as an electrical contractor and worked with the local IBEW 194. He also owned several of his own companies, and was known as being a brilliant mind to each and every person he came into contact with. William was an avid hunter, and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He was a loving father, and worked hard to provide for his family. In addition, he made an impact on every person he came into contact with through his wit, humor, intelligence, and caring nature. There will never be another like him, and he will forever remain in our hearts.
