Shreveport, LA - Services celebrating the life of Willie Beatrice Williams will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA 71101. Officiating will be Pastor Tommy Eason of East Point Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, LA 71109. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Willie B. was born on June 23, 1930 to Addie Thomas and Ike Bogan Sr. in Red River Parish, LA, and passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She loved thrift shopping, decorating, gardening, and being around her family and friends. Willie B. had a servant's heart, and all who knew her benefited from her quick-wit and wisdom. Willie B. is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Williams; one brother and four sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Bernadette "Jo" Williams-Clark; Teri Williams and her special friend Gary Sewell; sons, Jimmie Williams and wife Dana, all of Shreveport, LA, Joseph Williams and wife Catrina of Ellerslie, GA; sister, Fannie Henderson; brothers, Ike Bogan Jr., Charlie Bogan Sr. and wife Janie, William Bogan; cousin and best friend, Oria Lamonte of Elm Grove, LA. She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving family members. Honoring Willie as pallbearers will be Dennis Bell, Travis Bogan, Wayne Bogan, Melvin James, Cameron Williams, and Jamarsa Williams. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Bogan, Harry Bogan, Rev. Ike Bogan Jr., William Bogan, Noah Ervin, Jamie Williams, and Kaiden Williams. The Williams family extends heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Jonathan Davis and the Willis-Knighton Pierremont Cardiology Staff, Dr. Bob Massengil and the Christus Highland Oncology Staff, Dr. Jabbour and Staff at M.D. Anderson in Houston, TX and a host of those who treated and cared for her over the past several years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to East Point Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2570 US Hwy 71, Coushatta, LA 71019 or to American Cancer Society, 920 Pierremont Rd. #300, Shreveport, LA 71106.
