Willis Perritt, age 81 died October 24, 2020 in Ruston, Louisiana.
A celebration of Willis' life will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. at Alabama Baptist Church in Arcadia, Louisiana with a graveside service following at 3:00 p. m. at Alabama Cemetery. Bro. Lamar Skinner, Bro. Stephen Beard and Bro. Doug DeGraffenreid will officiate.
He was born in Arcadia on January 3, 1939, to Bessie Simpson Perritt and Dee Perritt, he was the oldest of three children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Caroline Perritt.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Speed Perritt, sons, Randall Perritt and wife Leigh Ann, John Perritt and wife Judith and Greg Perritt and wife Jodi, stepson, Brett Nobles and stepdaughter, Kathryn Foster, grandchildren, Tyler Perritt and wife Samantha, Ashlyn Perritt, Zac Perritt, Matt Perritt, Landon Foster, Logan Foster, Garrett Nobles, Hayes Nobles, Layton Perritt, Lawson Perritt, and Sawyer Perritt, great grandchildren, Noah Perritt and Jesse Perritt. Brothers, Ross Perritt and wife Hilda and Fred Perritt and wife Kaye.
Willis attended Louisiana Tech University and later graduated from barber school. He taught barbering at Northwest Vo-Tech in Shreveport for 2 years. After having barbered for 12 years, he accepted a position at Ruston State School. He worked as a supervisor and then took over the horticulture program.
He retired from Ruston State School after 25 years, and he and his wife Betty started their own nursery business. After 17 years in the nursery business they decided it was time to retire again to go fishing and enjoy their grandkids.
