Shreveport, La - Celebration of Life services for Winnie Lou House Butler, 79, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Bro. John Harp officiating. Interment will take place at a later date on the grounds of Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX. The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Tuesday, February 10, 2015, from the hours of 6-8 PM at Rose-Neath Southside. Winnie was born May 25, 1935, in Ashdown, AR, to the late Floyd and Myrtle Lois Britt House and was called home February 7, 2015, in Shreveport, LA surrounded by loved ones. She was a selfless person always putting family and others before herself. Winnie was a sweet, soft spoken, gentle person that took great pleasure in brightening others' lives. She loved creating beautiful things and was a great seamstress, cake decorator, cross stitcher, gardner, interior decorator and much more. Winnie was a very brave and strong woman that was gifted with handling more than the average person. She was a devoted Christian and enjoyed fellowship with others. Winnie will be remembered for her quick wit and humorous charm. Winnie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 55 years; SMSGT Billy Marvin Butler, son; Darrell Marvin Butler, Brother; Albert House and sister; Rosie House Stuart. Left to cherish the wonderful memories Winnie leaves behind will be her son; Stacey Butler and wife Sharilyn, daughter; Glinda Gafford and husband Earl "Skip", sister; Eileen House Nugent and husband Larry, three brothers; Andy House, Alford House and wife Hazel, Lloyd House and wife Sue, four granddaughters; Leslie Glover Daley and husband Mike, Rebecca Glover Reynolds and husband Ivor, Nikki Jeansonne, Brandi Butler, five great-grandchildren; Mackenzie Stewart, Anna and Rush Reynolds, Clark and Alison Daley along with numerous extended family members and many great friends.
