Wynell Tidwell

A funeral service celebrating the life of Wynell Tidwell, 91, will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home Coushatta chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Curtis Carroll. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the funeral home. Wynell was born on April 25, 1926 in Ashland, LA to Walter and Mae Lay Spillman and passed away January 9, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. During her lifetime, she was an award winning champion pie maker, a member of the Pilot's Club in Coushatta, a town alderman for 16 years, and was very politically active. Wynell was preceded in death by husbands, Berton Lawson, father of her children and Ellis Tidwell; sons, Robert and Rodney Lawson; siblings, Isabelle Bates and Emmanuel Spillman; son-in-law, Larry Conly; and grandchild, Candice Lawson. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Barbara Conly; grandchildren, Brandon Lawson and wife, JoAnna; Chris Conly and wife, Loan; Cori Craig and husband, Jay; Clay Conly and wife, Breanna and Carl Zarate; great-grandchildren, Devin Shaddox, Jordan Conly and wife, Kourtney, Gaige Conly, Skylar Bernard, Emma Lawson and Lane Lawson; great-great-grandchild, Lilliana; sister, Ezelle Hanks; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family, Michelle Conly and Sakura Hanna, Mark Mims and Durona Cantrell; and by special friends, Diane and Dickey Milner. Honoring Wynell as pallbearers will be Chris Conly, Brandon Lawson, Jay Craig, Clay Conly, Jordan Conly and Gaige Conly. Serving as an honorary pallbearers is Carl Zarate, Mark Smith, and Dr. Stuart Blum. The family would like to give a special thanks to Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and caregivers, Lisa and Carla.
