Zelma Jean Applebaum

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Zelma Jean Applebaum, age 71, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 2, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Wooten officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Stoner Ave. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the funeral home. Jean was born on August 23, 1944 in Shreveport to Finnis McKellar and Margaret Brown and passed away on July 28, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her beloved husband Raymond Applebaum. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ronnie Davis and wife Rebecca and Michael Applebaum and wife Marcy; daughters, Sharon Wooten and husband Tim, Cyndi Love and significant other John Barnes, and Lynn Applebaum; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Booth; brothers, Norman McKellar and wife Alma, and Finnis McKellar and wife Joyce, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Honoring Jean as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Corey Davis, Ryan Ward, Dustin Martin, Tristan Davis, Michael Applebaum, and Brandon Judd.
