Barbara Flesher Rewis, 91, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas on Monday, November 22, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd., Keithville, Louisiana. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Shellie. Officiating the service will be Dr. Larry Williams. Barbara was born February 11, 1930 in Houston, Texas to Dollie Williams Flesher and Glenn Flesher. She lived in Centerville, Iowa until age four when her father died, after which her mother, brother, Glenn and Barbara moved to Shreveport to be near family members. Barbara attended Queensborough Elementary and Fair Park High School, graduating in 1946. Growing up she attended and became a member of Queensborough Baptist Church. After high school graduation, she attended Norton Business College and then worked at Frost Lumber Industries and Arkansas Fuel Oil Corporation. In 1955 she met Lt. Shellie O. Rewis, Jr., a USAF Navigator at Barksdale Air Force Base and married New Year's Eve of that year. After living in Bossier City, Roswell, NM, Columbus, MS, and Goldsboro, NC, they spent their retirement years in Shreveport. They were long-time members of Broadmoor Baptist Church where Barbara was active in children's Sunday School, Pastor's Bible Class, WMU, VIP and Widows' Group. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Shellie Rewis; and her brother-in-law, Roy T. Rewis. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sharon K. Fox of Plano, TX; son, Gregory A. Rewis and wife, Stephanie; four grandsons, Devin and Noah Rewis and Garret and Logan Fox; and brother, Glenn Flesher and wife, Phyllis. Barbara will forever be remembered as a faithful wife, dedicated mother, loving grandmother and devoted friend. She loved the Lord and placed her faith in Him at an early age. The family would like to thank Lynridge Assisted Living and Merritt Hospice for their loving care. Remembrances may be given to Broadmoor Baptist Church, BBC Widows\' Ministry or the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission.
