Bendell Purnell Justice was born February 6, 1928 in Monroe, Louisiana to David and Mattie Justice. He was delivered by doctors Bendell and Purnell and was named after them by his mother. But everyone always called him Jack. He was raised in Bastrop, Louisiana.
Jack got his love of football from playing in high school for the Bastrop Rams. He was a member of the undefeated squad that won the State Championship. He was very proud of his service in the United States Army from 1950-1952.
Jack was a Watchmaker and Jeweler. He came to Mansfield, Louisiana in 1959 to work at Stotts Jewelry. He raised his family in Mansfield and continued to work there until 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, R. C. Justice; sister, Margaret Hemmelrath; brother, David Justice, Jr., and brother James Justice. He is survived by his daughter, Marliese Justice Griffith and husband Jim; son, David Justice; granddaughter, Lane Griffith King and husband, Paul; grandson, Bailey David Griffith and wife Megan; great-grandsons, James Forrest King, David Bailey King, Nathan Justice Griffith and Eric Alexander Griffith and his beloved nephew, Jim Justice of Ruston.
A memorial service for Jack will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Northwest Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. in Keithville, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to Christ Memorial Episcopal Church where Jack was a member.
