Cecil Hendricks

Cecil Hendricks, 77, of Keithville passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 after a battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24th, at 11:00 a.m. at "The Shreveport Pentecostals Church" at 3001 Meriwether Road, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Born December 3, 1943 Cecil was an all-around good fellow. He rarely met a stranger and he would speak to everyone. He would start out with a kind "hello" and then generally it would end with some sort of humor and for you to have a great day. Cecil loved his grandkids, playing golf, and just sitting around with all of his buddies drinking coffee and talking about how each of them would change the world. Cecil worked for Exxon for many years operating several of their service stations and convenience stores in the Shreveport area. Then, in 1992, he purchased an Exxon station of his own called Village Exxon which was located on Mansfield Road in South Shreveport. He eventually retired and sold that business in June of 2011. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Inez Hendricks; his wife, Kathy Hendricks; his brother and sister-in-law, Herb Hendricks and wife, Linda; a nephew, Bryan Hendricks; a sister, Mildred Woods; and his grandson, Christian Hendricks. He is survived by his daughters, Mechele Head and husband, Mike and Christina Hendricks; his grandchildren, Stephanie Starret, Matthew Head, and Joshua Hendricks; brother-in-law, Neal Keith and sister-in- law, Shirley Andrews and husband, Jimmy; nieces, Melody Eaton and husband, Steve and Robin Smith. A special thank you goes out to Roger Dowdall, Jerry Harrington and wife, Elana, for helping around the house and being genuine friends to him through his lasting days. A special thank you also goes out to Superior Hospice for all of their kind, gentle, loving staff that made his last days peaceful. Any condolences can be sent by mail to Mechele Hendricks, 2941 Hoyte Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana 71118. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
