HOMER, LA: Mrs. Frances Lucille Owens Caskey, age 72, born on August 2, 1947 to Otha and Lucille G. Brown Owens in Bogalusa, LA. She entered into rest on October 29, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Caskey's family lived through the state of Louisiana and eventually settled in Ruston where she graduated from Ruston High School and attended LA Tech. She worked with Bell South as an operator in her younger years. Mrs. Caskey also worked for Claiborne Manor. She wrote weekly articles for the Guardian Journal for the Homer High School Football Booster Club in support of the team. Mrs. Caskey loved her horses, dogs, and cats and enjoyed her flower gardens. Spending time with her grandchildren was the highlight of her life.
Mrs. Caskey was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gary Bert Caskey of Homer, LA; two sons, Jeff Caskey and wife Piper of Homer, LA, and Brian Caskey and wife Patricia of Haynesville, LA; three grandchildren, Jenna Caskey, Cannon Caskey, and Katelyn Smith; brother, Mike Owens and wife Jennifer of Shreveport, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Caskey, her family suggests memorials be made to American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org/honor or 2644 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., Suite# 122, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
