George Glenn Wiggins

George "Glenn" Wiggins entered this world on September 22, 1972 to Davis Harold Wiggins, Sr. and Mary Helen Slagle Wiggins in Minden. Glenn grew up in and around the Heflin area and attended First United Pentecostal Church in Minden. He attended schools in Sibley, Ringgold, and Minden. This is where we met for the first time at Richardson Elementary in 1st grade. School was never Glenn's passion and on several occasions he was well known in the principals office. Glenn was one of 5 boys for Davis and Helen, Davis Harold Wiggins, Jr., James Patrick Wiggins, Michael Dwayne Wiggins and his baby brother Jeffery Andrew Wiggins. They were very close. Glenn and I fell in love on December 31, 1989 and married on May 14, 1994. When my dad realized he couldn't run him off, Herbie Day became his second dad. They did so much together and he thought the world of my dad and could not make any big decision without running it by him first. We have not always had the perfect relationship as those who knew us back when, but we fought hard, but loved even harder, the result, 4 beautiful children. Haley Savannah 19, Matthew Garrett 15, Carrigan Brooke 14, and Addison Caroline 5. Glenn was a very strict father, but there was always so much love behind it. He wanted our home to be where the kids came and hung out so he could keep his eye on them. Glenn began working very young, Monday's Oilfield, Auto Zone, Skyline Industries and the City of Minden. In 1996 his dream began when we went to purchase his first dump truck. It was a little disappointing when we had to work on it for 3 hours to get out of the driveway. He never quit or gave up he could work on anything. He has loved everyday of going to work. The kids would tell their friends when asked where does your daddy work, they would say "he plays in the dirt." He took every job to heart and always took great concern for every customer. Every night he would come home and tell me all his stories. I think the last few years have been especially his favorite, working with Benny Sanders. He loved being with him and talking with him and EATING with him at Cottons. In the past year Glenn had re-devoted his life to Christ attending Emmanuel Baptist Church with his family weekly and was so proud to see the recent baptismal of his children and others coming to Christ. He was firm in Spirit and soft in heart. Glenn never met a stranger and we often said he would talk to a fence post if it would listen. A celebration of Glenn's life will be Sunday March 29, 2015 at 2 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Jeff Ramsey and Rev. Matt Cate officiating. A private graveside will follow. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at First United Pentecostal Church. Glenn's family asks that his friends wear camo in his honor. With my love always, Jeanne Rae Day Wiggins   Rose-Neath Funeral Home Minden, Louisiana 71055 (318) 377-3412 Fax (318) 377-0227
