Idalia Feliciano

Idalia Milagros Feliciano, 71, of Bossier City passed away on March 17, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 26, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service. Brent McQuarters will be the officiate. Idalia was born on November 25, 1949 in Morovis, Puerto Rico to Andres Rodriguez and Maria de Jesus Colon Rivera. Being the youngest of nine, her sisters believed that they had a real live baby doll, dressing her up daily and helping take care of her. Idalia met her future husband when he stopped to help a damsel in distress after her car broke down on the side of the road. Jorge Feliciano and Idalia married on October 17, 1970 in Puerto Rico. They had five children. Idalia spent most of her life as an in-home childcare provider. She loved to play scrabble and frequent garage sales with her best friends. Idalia had a passion for music, dancing and cooking and she would often open her home to family, neighbors, and her children's friends. Once you stepped foot inside her home, you became an honorary Puerto Rican family member. Idalia spent her later years caring for her grandchildren, gardening and talking to her sisters every day. Idalia is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Juan Antonio Rodriguez, Andres Rodriguez and Hector Rodriguez. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Waleska McQuarters (Brent), Jessica Beaudion (Eric), Joel Feliciano (Ashley), Monica Olson (Jeff), Rebecca McKnight (Chris): sisters, Josefina Rodriguez, Iraida Rodriguez, Margarita Rodriguez; brothers, Ismael Rodriguez, Candido Rodriguez; twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous friends and family member In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital www.stjude.org in Idalia's name.
