A graveside service for Jerry Wayne Harmon, CWO2 USCG Retired, 79, will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent in Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tom Brown.
Jerry was born on January 26, 1942 in Weatherford, Texas to George and Alberta Harmon and passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana from effects of Covid 19, pneumonia and diabetes with his loving wife, Dianne, at his side.
Jerry served 4 years in the United States Navy and 16 years in the United States Coast Guard. He was an active member of the Krewe of Elders, where he served as King in 2021. He was a member of the American Legion Post 14 and Elvis Angels Fan Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Jerry Wade Harmon. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 13 years, Dianne LeFeve Harmon; son, Gary Harmon and wife, Misty of Waskom, Texas; stepdaughter, Tammy Thompson and husband, Dennis of Minden, Louisiana; stepson, Chuck Miller and wife, Karen of Blanchard, Louisiana; grandchildren, Julia Todd, Christy Harmon, Gary Harmon, Brandon Vailes and wife, Candice, Cobie Miller and Dennis Thompson, II and wife, Kara and Felicia Southern and husband, Josh and great-grandchildren, Jackson Southern, Miranda Southern, Levi Thompson and Landyn Brocato.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be special members of the Flashback Band, Bill Handorf, Lynda Methvin, Kent Gill, Jane Gill, Stan Waters and Sandy Waters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
