A "Memorial Gathering" for John David Miller, 75, will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. John was born on September 30, 1945 to Cort John Miller and Sheila Jacqueline Hedricks Miller in Baltimore, Maryland and passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. John was a resident of Keithville and retired from General Motors as a LEPO Phosphate Tech. He loved to go down to south Louisiana to fish and go crabbing. In his down time, he also enjoyed gardening. He loved to grow a wide variety of vegetables that he would give away to friends, family and neighbors. He also loved growing flowers. He was an avid coin collector. He would spend hours looking for old coins. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He always made sure everyone was well taken care of. One of his favorite quotes, in his own words was, "Are you writing a book...? Well dear, leave it a mystery." He will be truly missed. John is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alan Miller and Matthew Miller. Left to cherish his memory is his wife and best friend of 41 years, Patricia Miller; children, Heather, John David II, Christine; grandson, Bradley; niece, Terri Lynn; best friends, Amos "Bud," Robert "Ducky;" as well as numerous other family and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Willis-Knighton South, Willis-Knighton Pierremont CCU and ICU and all the doctors and nurses for the care and compassion shown to John.
