Melba Prothro Miller, 90, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021. Melba was born in Campti, Louisiana on December 12, 1930 to Annie Oliver and William B. Prothro. She attended Bossier High School and Bossier Parish Community College.
Melba worked with the Shreveport City Court. She always enjoyed helping others. That gift led her to a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant which allowed her to care for seniors in their homes. Melba enjoyed being outdoors whether it was fishing or working in her extensive gardens. She also enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Judge Garner R. Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Susie Garner May of Shreveport; stepdaughter, Cathy Eubanks; grandchildren, Tia George Pickens and her husband, Gary of Fort Hood, Texas, Christopher George and wife, Hillary of Shreveport, Louisiana, Billy May Jr. and wife, Katerina of Austria, Courtney Eubanks, and William Eubanks and wife, Andrea; and great-grandchildren, Anna George, Nathaniel Pickens, Margaret Pickens, Mariella May, Emilia May, JohnAubrey George, Kamorah Eubanks and Brayleigh Eubanks.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana.
