Owen Grubb, Sr.

A memorial service for Owen Dean Grubb, Sr., 64, will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Salem Baptist Church, 5187 LA 3276, Stonewall, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 26 prior to the service. Officiating will be Dr. Mike Hawkins. Owen was born on May 1, 1956 to Tom and Lena Grubb in Rector, Arkansas and passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Owen, beloved husband, dad, and grandfather was an avid lover of horses, hunting and fishing. He loved his grandchildren and his sweet poodle, Lucy, or Baby Girl as he adoringly called her. Owen loved his church and the Stonewall community and was often seen around town mowing, cleaning up, and helping people in any way he could. Owen will be remembered for having bright blue eyes that lit up a room and a smile and opinion for everyone he spoke to. He laughed easily and hugged often. Owen gave his heart to Christ as an adult and loved singing about his God. He knew when he took his last breath that he would be walking into the arms of Jesus. He leaves the greatest gift of all to his family, confidence in his salvation and eternity with the Father. He lived a good life and we are comforted knowing he is singing Beulah Land with his King. Owen is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Grubb; sister, Marcelle; and granddaughter, Addyson Grubb. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Beverly Jean Grubb; son, Dean Grubb and wife, Nicole Johansen, and their children, Jamesyn and Ashton; daughter, Sarah Stuart and husband, Russell, and their daughter, Madison; step-son, Mike Jones and wife, Melissa, and their daughter, Carleigh; step-daughter, Kelly Hartley and husband, Jason, and their children, Greg, Benjamin and Hailey; brother, Len Grubb and wife, Annette; Velma Jean, Linda Kay; and sister-in-law, Pat Grubb. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Bisselle and Randy Rogers. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Prime and Beth Springer, RN, Dr. Scott Howard and Dr. David Green and the nursing staff at Willis-Knighton Pierremont ICU and 6 Tower for the continuous care, compassion and support given to both Owen and Beverly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, blood/plasma donations or the charity of your choice.
