Paul Wilson

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Paul Elliott Wilson will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at Salem Baptist Church, 5187 LA-3276, Stonewall, Louisiana. Visitation - 10:00 a.m. and Memorial Service - 11:00 a.m. Paul Elliott Wilson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 18, 1941. He is the son of Maggie Irene and John Fletcher Wilson who predeceased him in death. Also preceded him in death was his brother, John F. Wilson (Betty). Paul was married to his devoted and adoring wife, Nancy Horne Wilson, for 63 years. Nancy and Paul were inseparable through the years. They were best friends and partners in all things especially in raising their family. They had three children Michael Paul Wilson (Donna), Randall Scott Wilson (Jacque) and Susan Wilson-Teague (Brian). He is survived by five grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson Evans (Eric), Ashley Goodman Templeton (Ryan), John Daniel Wilson (Samantha), Seth Callaway Wiman (Virginia), Cody Wyatt Wilson and predeceased by one grandchild, Jared Michael Wilson. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren, Jalee, Wilson, Bryce, Knox, Addie, Owen, Ethan, Auggie, Ryan-Palmer and Nora Jane with his 11th great grandchild to be born in June. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, a long list of great friends and his sweet fur baby, Angel. Paul never met a stranger. He was a jovial soul who loved to play practical jokes and tease those who surrounded him. He was a man of all trades. He could build or repair anything. He was quiet the craftsman with his tools and loved spending time in his shop, growing his garden and riding his golf cart with Angel. He was also an incredible athlete who loved to play softball and basketball. In his younger days, if he was not on the ballfield, he was spending time with his family and friends at his Camp on Toledo Bend. He loved to fish, hunt and see the pictures of wildlife caught by his game camera. Paul was devoted to Christ and a member of Salem Baptist Church where he was active in church activities. He loved having breakfast with his buddies at the Chevron in Stonewall and was often referred to as the "Mayor of Shady Lake". He was an extremely intelligent man with an incredible work ethic. He was all things a father, husband and grandfather should be. He left an amazing legacy, and he will be greatly missed, but the memories, advice, lessons and love he had for all those who knew him will live forever within their hearts.
