Rickey Nielsen

A memorial service for Rickey Gene Nielsen, 68, will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Rickey Gene was born on October 14, 1952 in Delhi, Louisiana. He passed away on February 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Nielsen; and brothers James, Donald and Kenneth Nielsen. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda DeSoto Nielsen; sons, Rickey and wife, Lauran and Eric; grandson, Blain; granddaughter, Kynleigh; and step-daughter, Katlyn; siblings, Linda Clark, Judy and husband, Marty Rodriguez, Bruce and wife, Rose Steven; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved. Rickey was blind but that didn't stop him from living life. He would help anyone that came to him for help. He had nicknames for just about everyone. He would come up with stories and act them out as he was telling them. We're going to miss him.
