Ricky Lynn Corie was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on April 12, 1954. He was a lifelong resident of Shreveport where he passed away February 18, 2021, at the age of 66 after a brief illness. Ricky is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dionne Embry Corie; daughters, Allison Brannen and husband, Del of Shreveport, and Ashley Staniford and husband, Kerry of Stonewall; grandchildren, Makinley and Hadley Brannen and Parker and Presley Staniford. He is also survived by his brother, David Corie and his wife, Rene of Rivera Beach, Florida; nephew, Brandon Corie of Pembrooke, Florida; and mother-in-law, Margaret Embry of Shreveport. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Billie Corie and brother, George Corie. Ricky was a 1974 graduate of Fair Park High School where he played football. After graduation he attended Northwestern State University. Upon retiring from Libbey Glass Company with 32 years of service, Ricky became a part of the family business, Corie\'s Self Storage, and he was the original owner of Shooter\'s World in Bossier City. Ricky was a member and ordained deacon of Willow Point Baptist Church, where he also coached the boys\' baseball team. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping in Arkansas and spending time at the family camp on the Cypress River at Karnack, Texas. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Willis- Knighton North, especially Dr. Mohammad Akbarian and CCU nurses, Aaron and Cheryl, for their compassion and kindness. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Willow Point Baptist Church, 5500 S. Lakeshore Dr., Shreveport, LA 71119.
