Ruby Geraldine Green Stoker, 87, of Shreveport, LA, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021.
Ruby was born in Belmead, Louisiana near Pleasant Hill in Sabine Parish to Roy E. Green and Maggie Palmer Green. She was married to her sweetheart, Harvey Stoker, for 54 years. They lived most of their married life in Dallas, Texas where she worked for Oak Cliff Bank and various other banking institutions for almost 40 years. After retiring, they returned to Louisiana to be closer to family.
Ruby was a dedicated Christian and served the Lord at Cockrell Hill Baptist Church in Dallas and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Shreveport, where she leaves behind many friends and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey A Stoker, Jr. ; her parents, Roy Green and Maggie Palmer Green; brothers, Roy Weyman Green and Dalton Green and sister, Hilda English. She leaves behind a sister, Laverne Green Smith and husband, George; a brother, Douglas Green and wife, Bonnie along with numerous nieces and nephews who cherished their Aunt Geraldine.
Ruby was a fun-loving, talented lady who taught Sunday School, wrote poems and plays for her church in Dallas, and made sure that every niece and nephew had a gift from her and Uncle Harvey at Christmas, as well as a card in the mail for every birthday. She also loved to sing and play the piano. She had a very generous heart and reached out to help many people throughout the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but we are all rejoicing as she is welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven and is reunited with Harvey and many other loved ones.
