She was a graduate of Jena High School. She began a career at South Central Bell in 1965, where she had a distinguished 25-year tenure. Many remember her impact at South Central Bell, where she excelled in management and was a valued leader in the Business Service Center. In 1987, Sharon represented the company on the cover of the Louisiana Telephone Directory, with a circulation of over three million Louisianans. Following her retirement from South Central Bell - BellSouth in 1991, Sharon launched a successful second career in residential real estate. She retired from real estate in 2015. Sharon was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 40 years and worshipped at Summer Grove Baptist Church for the past 10 years. Sharon loved her time singing in the choir and especially enjoyed singing duets with her late husband, Tom. It was a joy for her children to see their parents sitting side by side for many years in the choir loft, worshipping the Lord together. For Sharon, family was paramount. She supported her children and grandchildren in every endeavor, from doctor's appointments, sporting events and college graduations to helping them find their homes. Her family looks back on many holidays spent at their "Mimi's" and cherished her consistency as a prayer warrior whenever someone was in need.
